The Employee Recognition Awards highlight staff members who embody the district’s values and commitment to student learning. Nominations are open to every staff member in Battle Ground Public Schools. The selection criteria include commitment to the district’s mission, contribution to a safe environment, support for high-quality instruction and collaborative behavior demonstrating trust and respect. Robert Langloss, teacher, Yacolt Primary School
Robert's dedication to his students has truly made a difference in recent years. By adjusting his teaching to each child’s needs, he has helped many students grow academically and personally. Mr. Langloss not only inspires a love of learning but also sets an example of patience, respect and kindness.
Tracee Villines-Asciutto, paraeducator, Daybreak Middle School
Starting as a volunteer and lunch lady, Tracee's become a beloved figure to students and families. Known by kids all over town, she creates a safe, welcoming environment for everyone. Whether coaching sports or working in the classroom, her passion shines through, and students thrive under her care.
Melissa Santilli, occupational therapist, Maple Grove Primary School
Melissa goes above and beyond to help kids succeed, offering support that extends beyond her role. Recently, she played a key role in helping a kindergartener adjust to a big move and transition into school. Her kindness, communication and commitment have made a significant impact on students and their families.
Brock Ledbetter, teacher, Amboy Middle School
As a teacher and coach, Brock challenges his students to grow and promotes teamwork. Though he humbly says he's “just doing his job,” Brock’s impact extends far beyond the classroom. His mentorship and commitment inspire those around him, making him truly deserving of this recognition.
Nicholas Gega, master sergeant, Battle Ground High School
Master Sergeant Gega stepped into a challenging role and continues to excel by teaching life lessons beyond the classroom. From promoting teamwork to being a supportive mentor, he is always there for his students, whether they need academic help or emotional support. His dedication and care make a lasting difference, and we are fortunate to have him at BGHS.
